Playables

A selection of playable ads I build at Estoty as part of the Playable Team, in Cocos Creator 3.8 and TypeScript. Every build ships as a single HTML file under the ad networks' 5 MB limit. I own gameplay, art direction and scene work, with AI-assisted development for the engineering.

Frost World: Breaking

  • A survival tutorial in the snow: break through, gather wood and scrap, craft a shotgun, then hold the gas station against a wolf pack.
  • The objective chain is data-driven, so each variant is a scene edit rather than a code change. That made it the team's iteration base: twenty variants shipped in one batch to test hooks, pacing and difficulty.

Frost World: Highway

  • A new playable branched from Breaking: a frozen highway of wrecked cars, zombies and wolves, with the main game's dog fighting at your side.
  • I added the ally dog, breakable car doors, lootable wrecks and bodies, and an authored intro cinematic. The street props come from a Blender-to-Cocos pipeline I set up for this project.

I Am Taxi Driver: Cab Ride

  • Hold to drive: pick up fares, get through traffic and a grandma crosswalk, deliver and get paid.
  • Each version moves the moment the store opens (on completion, after the first fare, on a timer, after crashes) to test which one converts. I also tracked down two GPU bugs that only appeared on certain Samsung Xclipse and Qualcomm Adreno phones, and shipped fixes for both.

Boost Rocket

  • Rebuilt from the shipped Unity game: aim, launch, fly and destroy three enemy bases, upgrading the rocket between launches.
  • The first export was 86.6 MB. Mesh, texture, animation and packaging work brought it down to 4.5 MB, while recorded gameplay sessions stayed identical. Five variants test drag versus tap shooting and upgrade visuals.

Life of Ants

  • The opening of Life of Ants as a playable: walk the ant to food, take a bite, carry it home, then grow the colony by hiring workers, hatching eggs and unlocking new food.
  • Built in nine days from the game's Unity assets, with prices and wait times compressed to fit a short ad session.

World of Fish

  • A sister project to Life of Ants. I kept its systems as the base and rebuilt the look, movement and flow from the World of Fish game files, so a swimming fish replaces the walking ant.
  • Done in a week.
